Sorry if I'm being obnoxiously ignorant or come off as lazy for not looking harder into it, but to be honest I'd rather get advice on buying a game from people who actively play and have a passion for board games instead of some Amazon reviews that can't even agree on what the color of the sky is. I want to be sure that the game I put money up for is quality made. I've read some things about how some of the versions don't have enough pieces or don't have money or something like that? I'm not too sure exactly what's going on with that, but. The longer the game usually lasts, the better. I owned a copy played it a bit very early in college. Something a bit more complex would allow for some variety for my friends and I for whenever we play. Answer (1 of 4): I play a decent amount of board games, and the difficulty with answering your question is that Axis and Allies is a pretty shitty game. In fact, I don't want it to be TOO simple that it's like Risk. I realize that that question is rather vague, and from what I gather, there is quite a variety of A&A games, so to better specify what I'm looking for: So, my question it the battle-hardened veterans, ingenious generals, and stonewall commanders of strategy game gurus on r/boardgames is: WHAT'S THE BEST AXIS AND ALLIES GAME? If you want to go cheap, grabbing the MB version is the way to go. There are apparently a whole bunch of different A&A games, and I find it somehow relatively difficult to find good reviews for each game on the internet. Which Axis and Allies is the best The Anniversary edition is probably the best all around version but itвЂ™s expensive. My only problem, however, is that I'm a bit ignorant to the the series. So, naturally, I'm interested in getting it.

From what I've gathered, the A&A games aware about commanding troops and conquering your friends, much like Risk, but is apparently more complex, and with tanks. I don't normally play board games a lot, but recently some buddies and I played a game of Risk and had a blast! We had so much fun, in fact, I've been looking into getting a copy of Axis and Allies.
